Rajyoga Meditation Retreat is a very beautiful medium of spiritual progress for the Brahma Kumaris’ brothers and sisters. It is a platform which provides each and everyone an opportunity to express their views. Through retreats one can come in contact with many people from different areas and get benefits of pure Satvik thoughts, feelings and culture of different places. People also get opportunity to see, know and understand various traditions and customs very closely.
Spiritual retreat gives an opportunity to have a quality time for the self, to contemplate and to self-reflect, which very important for the spiritual progress. It is indeed a beautiful chance to meet with each other and to have one to one sharing of wisdom and pure feelings. During such retreats there is always a give and take of positive aura between the participants. Senior Rajayogis, the resource persons, also spare special time to inspire the participants through their experiences, intense meditation, deep wisdom, love and care.
The Rajyoga Meditation Retreat organized by the Art and Culture Wing is especially designed for :
The venue of each retreat is chosen at different places of Brahma Kumaris centres or retreat centres every time. It may include historical places, hill stations, countryside towns or places near the sea or forests. It is because retreat organized amidst natural environment, peaceful places will help participants to connect with the nature and also enable to move easily towards spiritual self-progress. Venues are selected on the basis of adequate accommodation, facilities and resources.
The retreat aims to be organized twice a year. The final decision regarding the dates and time period of the retreat is taken after mutual discussion by the seniors of the Wing.
The following two types of photo exhibitions are organized by the Art and Culture Wing:
Places are selected for the exhibition where the artefacts can be kept safely and displayed properly and the general public can be benefited from seeing them.
Artists wishing to participate in the exhibition are allowed to present their art only if they meet the rules, norms and procedures set by the Wing. Any artwork outside the scope of the given topic is not accepted.
These exhibitions provides an opportunity to present one's art on the basis of virtuous and noble ideology.
The artists participating in these exhibitions develop the vision of contributing their art to the cultural upliftment of Bharat. The artist can freely display his/her admirable art which gives him spiritual satisfaction.
National level programs are organized by the Art & Culture Wing at different places in India. In these events, artists from almost every region of India are given the opportunity to present their art. Every year, the wing organizes many types of programs like art procession (rally), musical concerts, poets’ conference, get-togethers, workshops, seminar in different states of India throughout the year on a relevant theme.
Through events at the national level, the Art & Culture Wing tries to reach out the neglected artists of India whose arts has not yet received any recognition. Such artists are encouraged and honoured by giving them ample opportunities to present their arts.
To participate in the program, the artist can contact any local Brahma Kumaris centre give them their complete information. An invitation of the program is also sent out to various fields of artists from the local Brahma Kumaris centre and who so ever is interested can register for the same.
After connecting to the local centre artist can make a short video explaining the cultural, social and spiritual importance of his performance and send it to the Wing. The senior members of the Wing take the final decision regarding his/her presentation and inform the artist through appropriate medium.
Keeping in mind the objective of giving the artists an opportunity to showcase their art in front of a larger audience and also the customs, festivals and cultural fairs of different states, the place and time of organizing these programs are decided. Considering the large number of people, a decision can be taken to organize such events in rural area as well with the cooperation of the administration.
In the international project organised by Art & Culture Wing, RERF; artists representing different countries gathered and exhibits their arts individually and collectively. Participating with colleagues from other parts of the world allows all the artists to learn and contrast experiences, share methodologies and strategies. This encourages their interest towards various cultural heritages to grow more.
Different art competitions, exhibitions, performances are organized during these events. This gives an opportunity to every artist to bring a profound creativeness in their arts.
The relevant subject matter for each year is determined by the Wing officially. Two to three global level programs are organized every year on the same theme.
International programs are organized by the Wing mainly at the Brahma Kumaris headquarters at Shantivan or Gyan Sarovar premises. Other than the headquarters large retreat centres of the Brahma Kumaris, which is located in metropolitan cities are also chosen as an international venue for the event.
It is mandatory for artists to register as per rules through their local Brahma Kumaris centers to participate in the event.
Events are organized mainly between the months of October and January.
